Sergei Evglevski Lead UniRoos In Napoli

today 22, July 2019

Victoria University student and 2018 Commonwealth Games shooting silver medallist Sergei Evglevski lead the Australian UniRoos into the opening ceremony at the Stadio San Paolo in Napoli recently as the team flagbearer.

A surprised Evglevski was honoured to be chosen to carry the flag and lead the 184-strong UniRoos out at the Opening Ceremony.

“It’s very unexpected because there are so many deserving athletes in the team this year. I’m very honoured to be chosen and am excited to lead the team into San Paolo Stadium for the opening ceremony,” Evglevksi said.

Evglevski is only the second shooter to receive the honour, after Olympic gold medallist and Summer Universiade bronze medallist Catherine Skinner was given the role four years ago in Gwangju, South Korea
