Communique from Pistol Australia

Pistol Australia and Pistol Shooting Queensland have been reviewing the current situation with the Coronavirus Pandemic in relation to the 2020 PA ISSF National Championships scheduled for Brisbane from 4th to 12th April 2020. Management and the Executive have met and decided on the following action. The 2020 PA ISSF Nationals will be moved to the following dates:

PA matches at Metropolitan Pistol Club, Brisbane – Saturday 5th to Wednesday 9th September 2020
ISSF matches at Brisbane International Shooting Centre, Brisbane – Wednesday 9th to Saturday 12th September 2020.

The PA Match presentation dinner will be held on Wednesday 9th September and the ISSF and PA Awards dinner will be held on Saturday 12th September 2020.

The dates, are of course, subject to change should Government advice warrant further change to the schedule.

Pistol Australia understands that this change will cause disruption to the plans of our members but believe in light of current Government advice there is no choice but to move the championships. All competitors and officials will receive direct communication by email detailing recommendations with airlines and accommodation as well details on entry fees.

Further it has been decided to withdraw the following PA National Teams from the events listed below. The National Team Managers will be in direct communication with all team members.
• Action Pistol Bianchi Cup – May 19 to May 22 – USA.
• Metallic Silhouette World Championships – July 1 to July 10 – Sweden.

A decision on the WA1500 National Team scheduled to attend the European Championships in August in the Czech Republic will be made in the near future.

All National Development Squad activities have been cancelled until at least the 31 May 2020. A decision on the 2020 National Junior Camp will be made in the near future. The NDS coach will be in direct communication with all squad members.

PA recommends that all clubs follow their local State and Council recommendations re holding club events.

PA wishes all our members the very best and hope all of you stay safe during this period.

The PA office will remain open but the staff are working remotely as to minimise any risks. One staff member will be in the office each day on rotation in addition to the staff working remotely
