Bianchi Cup Report by Nick Barnard, Team Manager
Day 2 of the Bianchi Cup is concluded and the final results have been posted on the CMP website. Our PA shooters had another good day on the range. Jodi was first up on Barricades and had a hiccup at the 15yd line dropping two shots and finishing with 448-30X. Brett then shot a solid Mover score of 476-29X followed by Glenn who shot an excellent ‘clean’ Mover score of 480-29X.
Mark was next to shoot the Mover event and showed exceptional poise to produce a ‘clean’ score of 480-39X. This put Mark in equal first place with Bruce Piatt with the final Barricades event taking on huge significance, especially because they were also equal on X-count. Many other fancied shooters had fallen by the wayside, with the smallest of errors having major consequences to the leader board.
Jodi shot the Mover in the afternoon session and scored 469-26X. Mark was then up for the Barricade event. He was aware that Bruce had already shot a perfect 480-48X and he would need to equal that score to force the championships to be decided by Long X-count. Mark stepped up to the occasion and produced a 480-48X under extreme pressure. After some consultation of their score sheets Mark and Bruce shook hands, agreeing that Bruce probably had the higher Long X-count and would win the Cup. Formal score postings confirmed this, but I am still not certain of the exact count. This will probably be announced at the Awards Banquet.
Brett went into his favourite Barricades event having only dropped four points and was still in contention for a high placing. He is not called the Barricade King for nothing and showed his consistency by smashing another 480-48X. Glenn finished the day with a solid 480-38X to finish his first Bianchi Cup with a score of 1908-151X.
